Speaker Bio
As a young, international pharmacist, who arrived in Canada four years ago, Shams noticed that immigration is like hitting the factory reset button on your phone, except you're resetting yourself as a human being. She was bothered to see women pharmacy owners in their home countries have to put their dreams on the back burner when they come to Canada and knows how life-changing life as a pharmacist would be for them and their families.

Shams became an advocate for international pharmacists and a pharmacy career educator for newcomers' organizations like Achēv. Equipped with more than 10,000 social media followers and 55,000 YouTube views, she’s helped over 500 international pharmacists during the pandemic.

Shams obtained her PharmD from the University of Jordan and is currently an International Pharmacy Bridging Program student at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. Shams is an ACRP-CP and CCRP certified clinical researcher, entrepreneur, and web and phone applications developer. Passionate about technology, Shams built platforms for pharmacy education. Shams' goal is to ease the path of international women pharmacists so that they can find their place in health care and replace the journey of licensure from broken hearts and shattered dreams to success, happiness and joy.
