Mr. Ronald F. Guse received his Bachelor of Science (in Pharmacy) in 1979 from the University of Manitoba. After graduation he practiced as a community pharmacist in Thunder Bay and Winnipeg. He forged relationships with physicians and health-care colleagues, demonstrating a pharmacist could be more actively involved in the health-care of patients. In 1984 he became the Deputy Registrar of the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association, MPhA (now the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba), and was appointed Registrar in 1999, where he remained until his retirement in 2016.

His lifelong values and philosophy that “the patient comes first” were exemplified in many of his career accomplishments. Ron is an internationally recognized leader in Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs and the advancement of the profession. In 2020, he was elected Chair of the Regulators Forum under the International Pharmacists Association. In 2007, CPhA recognized him as one of the top 100 pharmacists to make significant contributions to the profession in Canada in the preceding 100 years. He also went on to receive their Meritorious Service Award.

He continues his work to assist pharmacy and health-care regulators and patient care advocates to enhance the quality and safety of patient care through Silverfox Consulting Inc.
