Born and raised in Winnipeg, Tanjit Nagra is the CEO for Pharmacists Manitoba. Tanjit is experienced in government relations, not-for-profit management, and community leadership. She is skilled in strategic planning, advocacy, and public relations. Tanjit has served on many community boards, including the University of Manitoba Board of Governors, University of Manitoba Senate and she is also a former President of the University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU). Tanjit holds a B.A. in Political Science and MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Manitoba. As a lifelong learner with a commitment to ongoing professional education, she recently became a CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) Candidate. In her first six months in the role of CEO for Pharmacists Manitoba, she successfully advocated to lower the age of individuals which pharmacists can vaccinate from 7 to 5 years old, as well, implemented a new scope of practice advancement for Manitoba pharmacists – the assessment and prescribing of uncomplicated cystitis. Furthermore, Tanjit led the organization in launching a social impact bond for smoking cessation with the Government of Manitoba, and finally, recently hosted the first in-person conference for pharmacists since the COVID-19 pandemic.
