As the most trusted and accessible health care providers, pharmacists are in an ideal position to help combat the spread of misinformation and encourage their patients to make informed choices about their health. Pharmacists can address challenges with health literacy within their local communities by acting as a reliable source of credible medical information. As highly trained, knowledgeable health care experts and skilled patient educators, it’s time for us to embrace our role in communicating science and knowledge translation. This session will explore novel strategies in promoting patient education, including the use of social media as an avenue for patient engagement.
